ArtsCaolina presents Cloudi

How would you bring the outdoors in? We are trying.

CLOUDI.SPACE has been in the works for over a year now. It began with an artwork. The idea fermented for a time. Attempt after attempt at resolving a vision, materials brought in, materials scrapped. Moments of beauty and inspiration, frustration and tears, even cuts and bruises, including a stubbed toe from kicking one. I finally found a design that satisfied me. The artwork is nearly complete – a light installation that I will soon introduce. But the design has opened a new door for me – miniaturized, it can be reproduced, and hopefully add joy to homes and businesses.
CLOUDI.SPACE will be introduced as a Kickstarter Campaign in November.

Working primarily in new media, Karen Niemczyk is US artist with a focus on interactive sculpture. Her artwork takes on a variety of forms – mainly interactive light sculpture and video but including digitally created prints, games, internet art and more. Art & Design

Design is a funny word. Some people think design means how it looks. But of course, if you dig deeper, it’s really how it works.

Steve Jobs

Design can be art. Design can be aesthetics. Design is so simple, that’s why it is so complicated.

Paul Rand
